Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Policy

Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Policy

Authorship and Responsibility in Using AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) tools may not, under any circumstances, be the author or co-author of a scientific article. The use of AI tools does not exempt authors from their scientific, ethical, and intellectual responsibilities, and the author(s) are entirely responsible for the content and accuracy of the article submitted to the Journal. The use of AI to create false authorship or falsify identity is strictly prohibited.

Transparency and Disclosure
If AI tools are used in the research process of the scientific study and in the writing stages of the article, this must be clearly and transparently stated in the "Methods" or "Acknowledgements" section of the article. When explaining the use of AI, the full name and version of the AI tools used must be written, and detailed information about the purpose for which they were used must be provided.

Editors and Responsibility in Using AI

Privacy and Intellectual Property Responsibility
Editors should not upload unpublished articles and accompanying files and visual materials to AI tools. This is particularly important to protect the confidentiality of submitted content and safeguard the intellectual property rights of authors, and editors are responsible for this.

Use of AI in the Editorial Review Process
Editors may only use AI tools at any stage of the editorial process with the explicit approval of the journal administration. The use of AI in these processes must be communicated transparently to the authors.

Managing Suspected Misuse
In case of uncertainty regarding the use of AI, editors should communicate transparently with authors and request supporting evidence where appropriate. Issues requiring further investigation should be referred to the journal administration for formal review.

Authors' Statements Regarding the Use of AI
Authors' statements regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools should be reviewed by the Editor(s), and editors should be able to request clarification from authors where necessary. It is the editors' authority and responsibility to evaluate whether the use of artificial intelligence complies with the journal's publication policies.

Staying Aware of Policy Developments
Editors should stay informed of developments in artificial intelligence technologies and follow updates to the journal's policies regarding the use of artificial intelligence.

Reviewers and Responsibilities for AI Use

Detection of AI Use
Reviewers are encouraged to inform editors if they identify or suspect potentially undisclosed use of artificial intelligence in the articles they are reviewing. However, such evaluations should be based on clear and objective evaluation standards.

Confidentiality and Ethical Responsibility
Reviewers should under no circumstances upload unpublished articles or related documents submitted for peer review to artificial intelligence platforms. Doing so may compromise confidentiality and potentially infringe intellectual property rights. Evaluation processes should be based on the evaluator's own expertise and knowledge level.

Evaluation Ethics
Evaluators should objectively assess authors' use of artificial intelligence and ensure that personal opinions or biases do not interfere with the journal's established policies. Any feedback or criticism regarding the use of artificial intelligence should be constructive and consistent with the journal's official guidelines.

Permitted Uses

Conceptual Diagrams and Explanatory Visualizations
Artificial intelligence can be used to visually represent theoretical ideas, conceptual frameworks, or processes. Visualizations created in this way should faithfully represent the author's own understanding and explanations.

Data Visualization
Authors can use artificial intelligence tools to enhance the visual presentation of research data. These tools can be particularly useful for improving the clarity and design of graphs, charts, and tables.

Illustrations and Visuals
AI-generated visuals can be used to simplify complex ideas and provide explanatory information to the reader.

Restricted or Prohibited Areas of AI Use

Content Creation
The use of AI is not recommended in sections where scientific value is prominent, such as the abstract, introduction, literature review, or discussion of the article. AI-generated content should only be considered as suggestions and should be improved by the author(s) using their own knowledge and expertise, rather than relying entirely on AI, within the framework of academic rigor.

Generating and Interpreting Research Results
AI should not be used to generate, report, or interpret research findings. The accuracy, scope, and validity of data analysis and interpretation are entirely the responsibility of the author(s).

Reference Creation and Citation
The use of AI to create fabricated, unverifiable, or non-existent references is strictly prohibited. All cited sources must be verifiable according to scientific standards and are entirely the responsibility of the author.

Academic Writing and Argumentation
The fundamental framework, ideas, theories, and evaluation of the results of the article are entirely the responsibility of the author(s). AI may be used for support purposes during the writing process, but it cannot replace the author's critical reasoning or original scientific contribution.

Procedures to Follow in Case of Policy Violation
If AI is used in the article but this is not disclosed, or if it is used in a manner inconsistent with the stated usage policies, this may result in the rejection of the article during the peer review process. If a violation of the AI usage policies is detected after the article has been published, the retraction of the article or the publication of a formal revision may be requested. Repeated or serious violations of this policy may lead to the direct rejection of the author(s)' future submissions to the journal.
